Your gift makes a difference

As a volunteer-driven organization, Carroll County Wabash & Erie Canal, Inc. has been serving the community for over 50 years. Together with your help, we steward the only remaining navigable Indiana segment of the Wabash & Erie Canal. This historic waterway was an engineering marvel, the second-longest canal in human history, and it transformed Indiana during its heyday.

While we take great pride in serving the community, we need your help to continue offering this beautiful space and educational experiences to our visitors. Charitable gifts are crucial to continuing our mission of preservation, education, and recreation. Will you join us today as a valued supporter?

Thanks to generosity from friends like you, each year we are able to:

  • Welcome thousands of visitors to Delphi
  • Protect and maintain nearly three miles of an endangered part of Indiana's heritage
  • Steward more than six miles of beautiful trails
  • Preserve dozens of historic buildings, including several irreplaceable historic bridges
  • Serve as a community meeting space for numerous local events
  • Host well over 1,000 Indiana students for engaging and informative field trips
  • Save and display historic artifacts and documents in the most comprehensive collection of Indiana's canal history
  • Offer an array of delightful public festivals and events, all centered on 19th century history
  • ...and more!

Additionally, Wabash & Erie Canal Park is an integral part of Carroll County's community fabric. Here is what volunteers and visitors have said:
